Terms of Use
Last updated: October 22, 2026
Welcome to OpenPost (“we”, “us”, “our”), a publishing platform at https://openpost.co.zw run by Peacro Technologies Africa (Pvt) Ltd, 103 Duiker Drive, Rochdale, Nyanga, Zimbabwe. By using this website you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1. Using the site
You may read and share our content for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree to use the site lawfully and not to:
- break or try to break the security of the site, or interfere with how it works;
- use automated tools to copy large amounts of content, overload the site or submit forms (search engines that follow our robots.txt file are welcome);
- use the site to send spam, run scams or mislead or harm others.
You must be at least 16 years old to comment or subscribe to our newsletter, unless a parent or guardian agrees on your behalf. You must be at least 18 years old to open an author account.
2. Our content
The design of the site and the material we publish ourselves belong to OpenPost. Articles by authors belong to the authors who wrote them (see section 4). You may link to articles and quote short extracts if you give credit and link back to the original. You may not republish whole articles, or use our content commercially, without permission from us and, for author articles, from the author.
3. Author accounts
- Applying. Anyone aged 18 or over can apply to become an author. We decide whether to approve an application, and we do not have to give a reason.
- Your account. Keep your password private. You are responsible for everything published or submitted from your account. Tell us straight away at authors@openpost.co.zw if you think someone else has used it.
- Your profile. Your name, photo, job title and bio must be true, and you must have the right to use your photo.
- Editorial review. Every story you submit is reviewed by an editor before it is published. We decide whether, when and how to publish it. We may edit for length, clarity, accuracy and legal safety, and we will talk to you first about any major change.
- Standards. Authors must follow our Community Guidelines, including the guidelines for authors.
4. Your rights in what you publish
If you publish an article, photo or other material on OpenPost, whether as an author or by sending it to us:
- you keep the copyright in your work;
- you give us a non-exclusive, free, worldwide licence to publish it on OpenPost, edit it as described above, keep it in our archive, and promote it (for example in our newsletter and on social media, with credit to you);
- you confirm that it is your own work or that you have permission to share it, that it does not infringe anyone’s rights, and that it is not defamatory or unlawful;
- you may ask us to unpublish your work at any time. We will normally do so, but we may keep a story, or a note that it was removed, where it has been corrected, is the subject of a complaint or legal claim, or is in the public interest.
5. Author membership
- Fee. Authors need an active membership to submit stories for publishing. The current price and period are shown on the sign-up page and in your author dashboard. We may change the price; any change applies from your next payment.
- Payment. Memberships are paid through Peacro Pay. Your membership starts or is extended once we confirm your payment. Paying before your membership ends adds the new time to the end of the current period.
- No automatic renewal. Memberships do not renew by themselves. When one ends, you can still log in and save drafts, but you cannot submit new stories until you pay again. Stories already published stay published.
- What membership does not guarantee. A membership lets you submit stories. It does not guarantee that any particular story will be published, promoted or earn support.
- Refunds. Membership fees are not refundable once your membership has started. If we close your account when you have not broken these terms or our Community Guidelines, we will refund any full months left. If we suspend or close your account because you broke them, no refund is due.
6. Supporting authors and OpenPost
- Direct to the author. The Support button on an author’s stories and profile takes you to that author’s own Peacro Pay account. Your payment goes directly to the author. OpenPost does not receive, hold or take a share of it, and is not a party to it.
- Voluntary. Support payments are voluntary gifts. They do not buy any service, content or influence over what the author or OpenPost publishes. Questions about a payment, including refunds, should go to the author, or to Peacro Pay for problems with the payment itself.
- Supporting OpenPost. The Support us button takes you to OpenPost’s own Peacro Pay page. These payments are voluntary gifts to help run the site, and they do not influence what we publish.
- Peacro Pay. Payments are processed by Peacro Pay under its own terms.
7. Comments
You are responsible for what you write in a comment. By submitting a comment you give us a non-exclusive, free licence to display it on OpenPost and keep it in our archive. Comments are reviewed before they appear and must follow our Community Guidelines. We may decline, edit for legal reasons or remove any comment. Comments are the views of their authors, not ours.
8. Accuracy and opinions
We work hard to be accurate and correct mistakes when we find them, but we cannot promise that everything on the site is complete, current or error-free. Articles by authors and comments by readers express the views of the people who wrote them. Nothing on OpenPost is legal, medical, financial or other professional advice. Please speak to a qualified professional before acting on what you read.
9. Links and third parties
Our pages link to other websites and services such as Peacro Pay, WhatsApp and Facebook. We do not control third-party sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
10. Newsletter
If you subscribe, we will use your email address to send you our newsletter, as explained in our Privacy Policy. You can unsubscribe at any time.
11. Intellectual property complaints
If you believe something on OpenPost infringes your copyright or other rights, email editor@openpost.co.zw with: a description of your work; the link to the page where you found the material; your name and contact details; and a statement that you are the owner or are authorised to act for the owner. We will review your complaint promptly and remove material where appropriate.
12. No warranty
We provide the site “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise that it will always be available, secure or free from errors or viruses.
13. Limits on our responsibility
To the fullest extent the law allows, OpenPost, Peacro Technologies Africa (Pvt) Ltd and the people who run them are not responsible for any indirect or consequential loss, or any loss of data, profit or reputation, arising from your use of the site, from payments made to authors, or from reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms limits any responsibility that cannot lawfully be limited.
14. Suspending and closing accounts
We may remove content, unpublish stories, remove an author’s Support button, or suspend or close an account, for anyone who breaks these terms or our Community Guidelines. You can close your author account at any time by emailing authors@openpost.co.zw.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they were last changed. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the updated terms. We will tell authors about important changes by email.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe, and the courts of Zimbabwe have jurisdiction over any dispute about them, unless the law where you live gives you rights that cannot be waived.
17. Contact
Questions about these terms? Email hello@openpost.co.zw.
Decisions I made that you should confirm before publishing:
- Refunds (section 5): no refunds once a membership starts, except that unused full months are refunded if you close an account without the author breaking the rules. Change this if you want a different policy.
- Unpublishing (section 4): authors can ask for their stories to be removed, but you can keep a story that has been corrected, is under a complaint, or is in the public interest.
- Minimum age: authors must be 18 or over, because they sign up for paid accounts.
